Not the best Chinese food that I had but it 's a good place for a quick lunch . Welcoming staff, fast and professional service , good price. I ordered sesame Beef for $8.99 with fried rise that did not care very much however, in general not a bad place to go.

Stopped here on a whim, and enjoyed it! They are more affordable than some of the other Chinese places in Novato, I appreciated their Lunch special. Service was very fast. The food was good, not the best but also not the worst I have had. The portion size was perfect for me (see attached picture). I wish there was more sauce.

Tasty, affordable, convenient.
I needed a bite before a jaunt to the dollar store and got the prawns with lobster sauce lunch special. It was a little salty but really satisfying and just 10 bucks.
The older man who brought my food had such a big genuine smile that it put me in a great mood for hours.

We've been eating here for about a decade now, and here's the thing: There just isn't great Chinese food in Novato. Jenny Low's is great - but really Americanized. Green Bamboo is very close to us, and when we just want some noodles or soup or a lunch plate it's convenient and fast!
The food is good, but not exceptional. Everything is fresh, the fried foods aren't greasy, and their pot stickers are really good. I really recommend the hong kong style pan fried noodles and the mushu pork - both REALLY tasty dishes. The staff is amazingly friendly, and regulars are treated like family which garners an extra star in my book - thus the four star rating.
3.5 stars for the food, bumped up to four for the staff. Check them out and let me know what you think about them. -

Hungry for a late lunch after going to the Dollar Tree and discovered the Green Bamboo. I sat at the counter and happily conversed with the server asking what their specialties are. Will have to come back to try their roast duck, and their boneless crispy duck too. For now I opted for beef with scrambled eggs with rice lunch special. It came to me looking like an omelette over rice, but was seasoned well (not salty) and was delicious nonetheless. The vegetarian egg roll that came with my plate was piping hot so I know they just fried the one for me. Will definitely come back.
